Colectivo Jiu Jitsu was born in September 2019 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where its headquarters remain to this day. From the very beginning, it has been more than just a place to train—it was built as a community driven by a deep passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a commitment to personal growth.

ColectivoJJ develops not only skilled athletes, but individuals of character—guided by discipline, respect, and values that extend far beyond the mats. People push their limits, grow stronger together, and build lifelong connections through the art of Jiu Jitsu.

Today, ColectivoJJ expands into Zurich with a new home led by one of its first-generation students and homegrown black belts, carrying forward the same philosophy, culture, and standard of training that define ColectivoJJ—preserving its identity while building a new chapter abroad.

Our Philosophy
• Discipline through training
• Respect on and off the mats
• Growth as individuals and as a team
• A strong and supportive community

Raymond Diaz is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Professor Javier Custodio. A lifelong martial arts enthusiast, he has trained continuously for over 12 years with world-class masters and competitors. In October 2025, he won his first major gold medal in the Brown Belt M1 division. While competition plays an important role in his growth, his true focus is on challenging himself, inspiring his students, and fostering discipline, respect, and continuous growth—both on and off the mats.
